Most companies do a lot of their marketing and advertising online. It is the most inexpensive and effective way to advertise because unlike newsprint, radio or TV they can effectively target an interested audience. For example with pay-per-click (PPC) advertisers only pay when an on-line user clicks their ad. Obviously the user only clicks an ad if they are interested in learning more about the company’s products or services.

This opens up the Internet to great opportunities for people to make money in data entry. Most companies don’t hire internally to do this work, as it is more efficient and effective for them to set up on-line programs to pay Internet entrepreneurs handsomely to fill out the online forms on their behalf.

What’s interesting is that because so many people assume that data entry is a scam it actually improves the business model. This is because it helps to moderate the number of people that take the data entry business seriously and therefore lessens the competition for those involved. Mind you there is virtually unlimited business available as companies always appreciate more promotion and publicity.

I do want to clarify that although ‘data entry’ as an industry isn’t a scam, as with any business, there will be crooks that will exploit the opportunity to collect money without delivering any value. Saying data entry is a scam is like saying real estate is a scam. The key is to be able to determine the companies that are legitimate, with a history of providing the services and tools to make people successful.

As with any new business, the harder you work and the more forms you fill out and more you will make. To say you’ll make a thousand dollars in the first day, well I doubt it, but many have made money within a couple of hours and hundreds within weeks and thousands per week within a month. Again it depends on how hard you work and number of forms filled out.
